Great Support for Street Soccer

The recent Sinethemba Street Soccer Tournament saw teams entered by NGO’s from George to Plettenberg Bay competing.

The tournament started with knock-out rounds and saw Sinethemba going home early, after losing to Masizame: Mad-About – Art 1-0. The local support and attendance was overwhelming with approximately 150 people turning up during the day. Dance groups Stylish and the G-Units entertained spectators between matches, hosted by BMWLoveLife. NGO’s participated in the tournament included YFV-Kids stop – 2 teams (George) Masizame – 2 teams (Plettenberg Bay) Masizame: Mad-About-Art – 2 teams (Knysna), LoveLife – 3 teams (Knysna), and a team from Sinethemba (Knysna).

After a gruelling final, that went to extra time and penalties, the LoveLife team 3 team took the honours. “The tournament is the start of many similar events to take place in the near future, which will help teach these youths with discipline and team-work” explains Sinethemba’s Deputy Project Manager, Elgan Hoff, adding that “the tournament
also serves as an opportunity for the different organizations to network and interact with each other”.

Hoff thanks LoveLife for facilitating the tournament, as well as From Us With Love for sponsoring prizes.
