During my visit to Knysna, South Africa, I spent some time at Magdaleentjies Crèche. I always enjoy visiting this school because I feel that Magdaleen does an exceptional job at her school. I like the fact that every time I visit this Crèche the children are always busy either learning the lesson for the day or participating in an activity. The smiles on the children’s faces speaks volumes to me.
There is a little girl at this Crèche named Chantel. Taryn Aveley, who is on staff with FUWL in Knysna, identified Chantel with an eye condition that one of her children had. Taryn contacted the Eye Surgeon that performed her son’s operation and he agreed to operate on Chantel for free. Chantel should be receiving her eye surgery very soon. I’m not sure if she knows exactly what’s going on, but she will when her vision is restored.
There’s a little boy at this Crèche named Charlton Brown. I met Charlton in February of 2008 when Magdaleen introduced me to him and shared his situation with me. Charlton’s Mother committed suicide and he and his siblings were sent to live with his Grandmother. Charlton’s Grandmother struggled trying to care for her grandchildren and was not able to pay for his school fees. FUWL shared this story with one of our Donor’s and I’m happy to report that not only were Charlton’s school fees paid, but Charlton was able to receive new clothes and shoes along with his siblings.
FUWL has funded a vegetable garden, rain catchment system, fruit trees, nutritious food, educational materials and other needed items for the school. I applaud Magdaleen and her staff. Thank you for the great care and love you show your children.

Its great what you guys are doing there. Looking forward to more info and stories.
