We spent the morning at Sinethemba Youth Development Center in Knysna. Sinethemba reaches out to Street Children in the Knysna Municipality. FUWL has funded a Carpentry Skills Center that is teaching the young men how to be carpenters. FUWL has also funded their garden. We believe that by teaching young people practical skills, this will instill a sense of accomplishment in them that will follow them the rest of their lives.

Sinethemba has relationships with local builders that will employee these young people once they master the skill. Street children are looked at as a nuisance and not many people want to reach out to them. Sinethemba and FUWL believe that every human being has value and are committed to encourage these young people and teach them the skills they need to make a life for themselves.
